Monthly meetings are held in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. These meetings usually feature a guest speaker addressing an aspect of Australian aviation history. Some meetings take the form of a members’ night with aircraft recognition and aviation trivia competitions, with members encouraged to discuss their specific interests.
Free entry is given to visitors who are always made welcome. You can meet with likeminded people and share knowledge with others of similar interests.
Annual lectures are held in both Melbourne and Sydney where respecively the John Duigan Memorial Lecture and Arthur Butler Memorial Lecture both feature a talk on a significant aspect of Australian aviation history.
The Society has active groups in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, where meetings are held once a month, usually featuring a guest speaker.
Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the RAAF Association, 24 Camberwell Rd, Hawthorn East, in the auditorium. The meetings start at 7.30pm - ring the bell if the front door is shut. Parking is available under the building - car park entry is from the lane at the south end. Visitors are welcome.

Wednesday 26th April
Kevin O‘Reilly will give a brief talk about his just released book, Charles Pratt of Belmont Common. Copies available to buy at $35 to members. This will be followed by a member’s night. Members can show a few slides of interest, tell us about a project they are working on or just give us the intel on some news that only they are aware of.
Wednesday 24th May
Alan Searle will be our guest speaker. Flying a C-47A to China for the Flying Tigers Museum will be his subject. This promises to be an interesting evening. During March Alan returned to China for the opening of the museum.
Meetings are held at 7:30pm on the first Wednesday in every month. There is coffee and tea after the meeting. Visitors are welcome.

Wednesday 3rd May
Warwick Bigsworth is planning to talk about ‘Aircraft that I nearly flew in’. A different slant to the usual of ‘Aircraft that I flew in’. Meeting at North Ryde RSL club.
Wednesday 7th June
Tom Lockley will present aspects of the Bob Wills Collection. The Wills Collection was large and extensive. Bob was an avid collector of Australian produced aviation books. Meeting at The Station, Jackson’s landing, 58 Bowman St. Pyrmont.
Meetings are held on the last Friday of the month, 7.00 for 7.30 at the Old Control Tower Builidng, Archerfield Aerodrome. Visitors are welcome.

Friday 28th April
A talk by RAN helicopter pilot, Jim Buchanan DFC, regarding his experiences as a helo pilot in Vietnam. The RAN in Vietnam does not get a lot of publicity so this will be an interesting talk.
